I strongly support Initiative I-522 http://yeson522.com/ to label genetically engineered foods in Washington. It would require companies to inform consumers about the presence of GMOs in food products. The use of GMOs concentrates seed production and economic power in the hands of a handful of multinational corporations. This limits seed availability to large farms and corporations that can afford it, thus threatening the viability of small independent farms. GMO pollen can drift for many miles (corn is an example) and contaminate organic crops. This puts an undue burden on organic farmers to seek non-GMO seeds and protect their crops in order to maintain their purity. Additionally, a number of the companies that produce GMOs have developed their seeds to be used with their own pesticides and herbicides. This can lead to an increase in the use of these chemicals. How I spend my money is my choice and in a very real way my vote. I prefer to support smaller, locally owned and operated farms that that practice sustainable agriculture. I would never knowingly serve or eat genetically engineered foods. Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are untested for effects on humans and our environment. We have the right to know where our food comes from and what’s in it. thank you… lisa

Just married Ellen and Nathan Sunday 09/02/12
The sweetest detail from Nathan and Ellen’s wedding was made for them by their son out of Lego’s!

Our friends Tom Douglas and Jackie Cross are up to some good things:
How awesome that in 2005, they began "Prosser Farm"  six acres of cultivated land, yielding 50,000 pounds of organically-grown produce for their restaurants in 2011 way to serve clean, local food large scale!!!!!!!

In case your in need of a culinary adventure, this week Tom Douglas’s "Culinary Summer Camp" starts July 8th
